A Brief Summary of Basic Beliefs
1. We believe that creation itself points to the power and love of the Creator and reveals many truths about his character and will. The Creator speaks through his creation, but the perfect revelation of the Creator and his plan of salvation is given in the Creator’s Book, which is the Bible - consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit who empowered and superintended the chosen human writers, is inerrant in the original manuscripts, is the infallible and authoritative Word of the Creator, is the foundation and guide for sound spiritual teaching and faithful living.
2. We believe that the one Triune Creator exists eternally as one being in three persons... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe that the Creator made and continues to sustain all things by his sovereign power.
4. We believe that the first man, Adam, created in the image of God, was tempted by Satan, and fell. Because of Adam's sin, all men and women have guilt imputed, are totally depraved, and need to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for salvation.
5. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Creator in the flesh – the Second Person of the Triune God, and that he was born of a virgin, died on the cross, shed His blood as the perfect and complete substitutionary sacrifice for all who are his, rose bodily, and ascended to heaven where He is presently exalted at the Father's right hand.
6. We believe that salvation consists in the remission of sins, the imputation of Christ's righteousness, divine adoption, and the gift of eternal life, all given by Divine sovereign grace and received by grace alone, through repentant faith alone, apart from any work other than Jesus Christ’s perfect sacrifice and complete victory over sin and death.
7. We believe in the promised visible and personal return of Jesus Christ.
8. We believe in the resurrection of both those who love and those who reject Jesus Christ as Lord. Those who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ will abide with him eternally and those who have rejected him shall be cast away from the eternal blessedness of his heavenly kingdom.
9. We believe that while the visible church may be made up of both the regenerate and the unregenerate, the invisible Church, the body of Christ, consists only of those who are born again, who are baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ at the time of regeneration, for whom He now makes intercession in heaven and for whom He will come again.
10. We believe that the sign and seal of the Creator’s new covenant in Christ are the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
11. We believe that Christ commanded the Church to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every person, making disciples of all those who believe.
12. We believe that the Holy Spirit transforms believers to love and submit to the Word of God, strive after holiness, and live devoted to Christ.
13. We believe that
the Gospel of Jesus Christ (The Jesus Way) can be effectively
communicated and celebrated while affirming and utilizing the cultural
context of our Native American Tribal Heritage without compromising
biblical truth or committing doctrinal syncretism.
